Superyacht days in Port Adriano

Between the 03.-05.05 for the second time the event “Superyacht Days” takes place in Port Adriano. During the period of 3 days about 30 super yachts will be presented for its sale or rent. Various nautical companies will present their current offers and invite the customers to their luxury yachts with a minimum length 24m/80ft. Since the event was a great success last year and had more than 10,000 visitors, this year it is also expected to turn the weekend into a great event for the whole family.

More than just an event, a tradition

Every spring, over a thousand sailors from 53 countries come to Mallorca to participate in a unique event where the best crews of Olympic sailing compete in the hope of victory and receive from H.R.H.Queen Sofia, the trophy that bears her name. XXVII regatta “Rei en Jaume”

This year between the 6th of June and the 8th of June 2013 the XXVII regatta “Rei en Jaume” will take place on the Balearic Islands. The race runs from the town of Salou, Tarragona to Calvia, Majorca and serves to commemorate the arrival of King James I in Mallorca in 1229, who sailed in that year with his fleet from the port of Salou to Mallorca island to conquer the island. Port Adriano – the exclusive marina

Only 20 minutes west from Palma de Mallorca and a few kilometers south from Santa Ponsa you will find Port Adriano; a modern and impressing marina. Constructed in 1992, Port Adriano has been newly designed just a few years back; a masterpiece by the French star designer Philippe Starck. Although Mallorca disposes of  approx. another 40 marinas, non of them reaches the flair and charm of Port Adriano. Pollensa asks permission to create more moorings

The City Council of Pollensa has asked for permission from the Coastal Authority of Balearic Islands to enable up to a hundred moorings in the bay of Pollensa, prolonging the closest dock to the torrents of Albercuix and Can Franc. They are also considering extending the number of moorings at the mouth of the Gola. The aim is to avoid the anchoring of hundreds of boats every summer out of the rules and controlling the swimming area of Puerto de Pollensa.

Professional Racer Action for “normal people”

A new highlight is grounded since October 2012 in the harbour of Puerto Andratx. The professional carbon fibre yacht of Udo Schütz (former professional car driver) is now owned by MYC (Mediterranean Yacht Club), founded by German residents. The boat initially known under the name  “Container” – won for Germany in 1993 the Admiral’s Cup – and is named now MYC ONE – after a major refurbishment in Valencia she is in a perfect condition.
